Excursions

Amazing location, exciting trips at ISC

ISC students go on 3 full-day trips to London, Birmingham and the university city of Oxford. All trips include an informative, guided walking tour and students can practise their English in real-life settings.

In London, students explore the capital's most famous sights and visit the excellent Natural History Museum. In Britain's culturally-diverse second city, students see the striking architecture of Birmingham, visit the Thinktank science museum and have free time for shopping in Europe's biggest shopping centre. In Oxford, students go punting on the scenic River Cherwell, have time for souvenir shopping and learn about the university's historic colleges.

Optional Excursions

On the first Sunday of the course, there are optional trips for an extra charge of £70-100 to lots of exciting destinations.

For history fans there is a trip to Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon where students can learn all about Shakepeare's life, works and the history of the market town on a guided tour. There is also a trip to Royal Windsor, where students can explore the late Queen's favourite residence Windsor Castle, go on a guided walking tour and go shopping for souvenirs.

Harry Potter fans can go on a tour of the Harry Potter Warner Brothers studios and experience the Great Hall, Diagon Alley and the forbidden Forest. You can see how the films were made, you some of the original props and costumes. Not to be missed!

For lovers of London, we offer a ride on the UK's number one attraction the London Eye or a cruise on the Thames and visit to the Tower of London, where the crown jewels are kept, along with centuries of royal drama and secrets! There is also time for souvenir shopping.

And finally, for students who love adrenaline, there is a trip to one of the UK's largest theme parks Drayton Manor.

Optional trips are subject to interest. There is a full day of activities for students who wish to stay on campus.

Learning Outside of the Classroom

Our staff give guided tours on excursions, so students can learn all about British culture and history. We also prepare our students for their excursions in British Culture lessons, where they learn all about the history, geography and cultural significance of the places they will be visiting.

Students have the opportunity to use their English in real-life situations on their trips and to get to know their fellow international students. On most trips there is free time for the students to explore or go shopping with their new friends.

Trip Safety

The safety of our students on trips is extremely important. We have a dedicated coach leader on each trip who carries a first aid kit. Staff are fully trained and briefed on excursions. Our team prepare students for their excursions with on the coach safety talks en route to destinations.

There is a ratio of 1 adult per 15 students on trips. Younger students have supervised free time with our staff and older students are required to meet our staff at regular intervals during free time. Groups are also accompanied by their group leaders. Students are given a card with ISC’s contact details on arrival at ISC, so that they can contact the school in case of an emergency.
