ISC welcomes students who travel independently
Care of our Individual Students
Some of our students travel in groups, but we always have a lot of students who travel to the school alone or with a friend. We call these students ‘Individuals’ and we put them in an Individuals' group with a British group leader to look after them.
We really value the contribution that our Individual students make to ISC. Not only does the confidence and fluency of our Individual students develop quickly on our courses, but they encourage others to mix internationally.
This truly international group makes it easier for students to make new friends and, of course, to do so in English.
All you need to know
To ensure Individuals are happy and well cared for, we:
appoint an experienced member of staff to be the Individuals Group Leader and help students to develop their independence.
we room Individual students in the same single sex houses close to the main office.
take registers 4 times a day - a chance to check all is OK.
keep pocket money in the school safe in the office, so students have regular contact with the course directors.
hold individuals’ meetings twice a week to give out information.
provide a dedicated group leader phone number and 24-hour emergency number.
